About

Fen Wang, grew up in Taiwan and received her bachelor degree in Biology.
Prior to attending Pratt, she worked in a bio lab, and researched animal viruses, HIV and SARS.

During her academic life, Fen found that she loves the truth ofscience, and dealing with objects which are visible and tangible. Her obsession with animals naturally influences her design, and her Pratt graduated thesis, Lush Plush, was inspired by a stuffed bear which she has had, since she was 15 years old.

Her thesis discussed why people have strong emotional connections with stuffed animals and tried to find which factors involved in making them attractive. As a biologist and designer, she tried to find the true value of stuffed animals in childhood and bring it back to our daily lives.

After graduation from Pratt, she works as a visual merchandising designer and prototype maker to explore the interactions between humans and objects.
